Bradley Stoll has practiced plaintiff-side aviation accident litigation since 2002, concentrating in aircraft product liability, commercial airline accident claims, helicopter and rotorcraft matters, and military and government contractor aviation litigation. He has served as counsel in approximately 45 federal aviation cases across more than 15 federal district courts.

Bradley graduated from Temple University Beasley School of Law and the University of Maryland. Before joining Katzman, Lampert & Stoll, he practiced aviation accident litigation at The Wolk Law Firm in Philadelphia, where he developed an extensive aircraft product liability practice in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and has appeared pro hac vice in courts across the country.

A substantial portion of Bradley’s practice involves product-liability proceedings against aircraft and component manufacturers. He has pursued claims against airframe manufacturers including Piper, Cessna, Beechcraft, Boeing, and AgustaWestland (Leonardo), and against engine and component manufacturers including Textron Lycoming, Continental Aerospace Technologies, Avco Corporation, Precision Airmotive, Hartzell Propeller, Parker Hannifin, Goodrich, and L-3 Communications. He has also handled claims against aircraft maintenance providers including Standard Aero, military and government aviation contractors including DynCorp International, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman, helicopter operators, airport authorities, and the Federal Aviation Administration. His product-liability work has included participation in the Cessna 208 Series Aircraft Products Liability Litigation, a named multidistrict proceeding consolidated in the District of Kansas (MDL No. 1721).

Bradley’s commercial airline and transport-category work includes service as counsel for a plaintiff in In re Ethiopian Airlines Flight ET 302 Crash, the Boeing 737 MAX multidistrict litigation in the Northern District of Illinois, in which Boeing stipulated to liability. He has also represented passengers and families in claims arising from the firm’s representative aviation matters and in proceedings against carriers including Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Southwest Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, and Omni Air International, a military and government charter operator.

His appellate work has addressed recurring doctrinal questions in aviation law, including the federal statute of repose in general aviation product liability, federal preemption defenses under the Federal Aviation Act, preemption under the Airline Deregulation Act, removal jurisdiction in aviation disaster cases, and the use of accident investigation methodology in expert-admissibility challenges.

Bradley’s litigation spans two firms and two decades. During his years at The Wolk Law Firm, he represented plaintiffs-appellees in Robinson v. Hartzell Propeller, Inc., a general aviation product liability matter involving the federal statute of repose, and in Agostini v. Piper Aircraft Corp., a Third Circuit appeal arising from a fatal aircraft crash that produced a precedential opinion on federal removal jurisdiction. With Katzman, Lampert & Stoll, he represented the plaintiff-appellant in Day v. SkyWest Airlines, in which the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit reversed the dismissal of a passenger’s personal-injury claims, holding they were not preempted by the Airline Deregulation Act, and the plaintiffs-appellants in Maerov v. Long Island Airline, LLC, a private aircraft accident matter before the New York Appellate Division, First Department. (Public record — Robinson v. Hartzell Propeller, Inc. (3d Cir. 2006), No. 04-3379; Agostini v. Piper Aircraft Corp. (3d Cir. 2013), No. 12-2098; Day v. SkyWest Airlines (10th Cir. 2022), No. 20-4129; Maerov v. Long Island Airline, LLC (N.Y. App. Div. 1st Dept. 2022), No. 2021-03520.)

He represents families in plane crash wrongful death cases nationwide. For educational analysis of aviation accident investigations, see the firm’s Aviation Insights section.
